The gap
Young people can face overlapping barriers: limited networks, missing practical skills, socio-economic stress and too few consistent aspirational adults outside their immediate environment.
REMIX is building a professional, high-energy social mobility model around the relationships, practical skills and opportunities that help young Londoners move forward.
We want every young person in London, regardless of their starting point, to have the confidence, skills and resilience to shape a positive and vibrant future.
Our missionTo unlock the potential of young Londoners aged 11–26 from socio-economically deprived areas through bespoke programmes focused on Skills, Mentoring, Development and Wellbeing, ensuring they have opportunities to succeed.
REMIX exists because social mobility is not solved by one intervention. Skills, confidence, wellbeing, networks and consistent guidance interact with one another.
Young people can face overlapping barriers: limited networks, missing practical skills, socio-economic stress and too few consistent aspirational adults outside their immediate environment.
REMIX creates a nurturing pathway that connects positive relationships with practical capability and direct exposure to progression opportunities.
We provide positive, nurturing role models who guide, inspire and genuinely care about the development of every young person.
We build genuine self-efficacy and agency through practical, transferable skills and knowledge.
We actively work to break down systemic and personal barriers to social and economic progression.
We aim to make programmes vibrant, accessible, relevant and engaging for participants.
We create high-quality, high-energy and memorable experiences that leave participants uplifted and inspired.
REMIX is volunteer-led in its early stage, but the operating model is designed around clear accountability and safe, consistent delivery.
Mandatory training, clear boundaries and reporting procedures for people working with young participants.
Defined goals, boundaries and support so mentoring is purposeful, consistent and safe.
Behaviour, Attitude, Skills and Knowledge provide a consistent framework for evidencing development.
A Board of Trustees provides oversight of legal, financial and organisational responsibilities.
REMIX is currently powered by a 100% volunteer workforce. Over the next two years, the priority is to secure sustainable partnerships and funding for a part-time coordinator and sessional workers — strengthening consistency without losing the energy of the volunteer model.
